Here's how the 2010 adventure was conceived:

The Epic Man is a one-of-a-kind Epic adventure. It is the inspiring (or insane) journey of two everymen – Will Thomas and Seth Bradbury - who will travel 175 miles in 24 hours, from an island in Portland, Maine to the finish line at the Boston Marathon. For 2010 they will run an additional 3 miles through the Boston Marathon finish continuing on to Logan Airport, fly to London, and then run the London Marathon. Also new for 2010, they will have others join them on each leg of the journey. All of this in honor of charity and inspiring others to be EPIC - whatever that may mean to them.

WGEntry Well, it didn't turn out like that. The not-trivial issue of a volcano killing all hopes of getting to London forced some on-the-fly shifts in planning. The result? Super-Epic.

Check out the sources of information on what transpired during this crazy week.

Also, you'll note that the alpenGRAPHIK photo collection is focused on the kayak leg and the Boston Marathon finish. There is a parallel collection on the Web. It covers a broader range of Epic Man activities, and was prepared by StopDownFire.

The coverage is expansive and 100% of profits from Epic Man photos will go to benefit Epic Man charities.
